Fairfield resident Stephen Roger Audet, 51, was stopped by an officer from the Wilton Police Department at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, when he was spotted weaving and driving on the shoulder of Cannon Road near the intersection of Pimpewaug Road in Wilton.
According to police, during the traffic stop, Audet proceeded to fail multiple field sobriety tests and he was taken into custody when he refused a breathalyzer. Further investigation found that Audet was in possession of loose prescription pills that were not in a container.
Audet was arrested and charged with failure to keep narcotics in an organized container, illegal operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and cited for failure to drive upon the right lane. Following his processing, Audet was released on a $260 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
